Composite Technology

SEM image of a carbon fibre reinforced polymer.

Composite materials are generally regarded as those materials that comprise two or more constituents of significantly different physical or chemical properties. In combining these constituents, a material is obtained with properties that surpass those of the individual components. Man-made composite materials include concrete, metal and ceramic composites and reinforced plastics.
